Team GGWC has always fielded a remarkably respectable FreeStyle team for EVERY Gay Games since 1982, and has
always adhered to the Gay Games Mission and principles of Tom Waddell by concentrating on those athletes who will benefit
the most from the experience:
Participation, Inclusion, and Personal Best . This means youth, women, and novices are the egalitarian priority
(as well as being the IRS 501c3 non-profit mission of Team GGWC!).
The coaches of Team GGWC have always taken the task of building the Tradition, Camaraderie, and Pride of its Gay Games
teams very seriously, and have built a family/community that is the envy of many other sports.
Elite wrestlers/grapplers will be required to coach and take leadership/mentoring roles within Team GGWC.
Team GGWC will once again work with WWB and host (Paris) to get inexpensive hostel/hotel housing as it always has in the past
so that all the wrestling/grappling team competitors will room together and be able to afford the experience.
Team GGWC will once again work to coordinate gear, flights, and rooms.

Paris Gay Games X Costs (California) ~$2.0k:
Team GGWC and WWB have had Gay Games experience working with Vancouver'90, NYC'94, NYC '94, Amsterdam'98, Sydney'02,
Koeln'10, and Cleveland'14. The estimate at this time for the this Gay Games X Paris experience for California San Francisco
flights, registration, and sharing rooms for 7 nights would be ~$2.0k each .
We are expecting lower/better rates on the hostels/hotels to significantly reduce this cost.
Remember this is a Team GGWC endeavor, not open to non registrants / non members, and
you must register for Paris and train with Team GGWC to be eligible.
Team GGWC Costs ~$360:
Annual CA-USAW/UWW medical/liability competitor membership Card ~$50/year (Due: September 2017 - September 2018)
Annual Team GGWC Dues $80 (Due: August 2017)
Gear (shoes singlet kneepads headgear etc... ) ~$100
Team GGWC Formal Practice Schedule:
Every Tuesday & Friday 6-9pm Saturday 3-5pm on demand starting June 2018
Starting September 2017, Team GGWC will offer Fri/Sat training packages to anyone who wants to compete in Paris.
These weekends are open to anyone planning on competing in Paris 2018 regardless of whom they will be competing for.
The coaching syllabus will be focused on NOVICES.
GGWC will offer FREE hosted housing in San Francisco for those who come from north/south/east bay or out-of-state.
